Helly Hansen Workwear is the most famous and highly acclaimed wet weather workwear brand in the world. The brand was founded in 1877 by Norwegian fisherman Helly Juell Hansen who, having spent 20 years at sea, decided that traditional fisherman’s clothing wasn’t providing adequate protection from the elements.
With the help of his wife Margarethe, Helly began work on their first products – making garments from coarse linen, soaked and cured in linseed oil. The result was waterproof workwear that was unrivalled by anything else in production at the time. Helly Hansen’s quality and innovation still continues to this day.
